If you're before entering the station
Add money to your IC card at a ticket machine or charging machine, then go through the ticket gate again.
If Your Balance Is Insufficient

- Try the Gate Again
If you've already gotten off the train
If your fare isn't enough, increase your balance at a fare-adjustment machine or charging machine, then go to the ticket gate again. Since the equipment and methods differ by station, ask a station staff member if you're not sure.
When the ticket gate closes
Don't try to push through — check what's shown on the screen. There are also cases where you can't get through for reasons other than insufficient balance.
